It’s National Workplace Wellness Week and we’re inviting you to join us in our Recess is Back initiative.
Why should you care? Because workplace wellness = RECESS!
Studies show that 10 minute activity breaks during the workday lead to increased physical health, mental wellness and cost savings. We believe that if people start taking recess at work, the benefits will expand beyond the workplace to friends, family and future generations.
“Working adults deserve a break from the daily grind. Recess is a common sense approach to re-energizing at work, improving health and productivity,” states CEO, James Curleigh. “We think that National Workplace Wellness Week is a great way to call attention to how programs like this can fuel great places to work.”
It’s also National Walk to Work Day this Friday. Here in Portland, the Willamette Pedestrian Coalition is inviting the city to join in on the national tradition. Participants will choose one of four meet-up locations and walk in groups to City Hall for a light breakfast and recess games. RSVP for the event here.
