KEEN Cares #6: Toe Protection to Help with Hurricane Sandy

Our fans are some of the most generous people on the planet. When Hurricane Sandy hit last October, we knew we had to do something to help support those in need, so we set up a Sandy Promotion on and matched $5 from every shoe purchase, plus included additional matching funds from the company. As a result, we were able to donate 2,300 pairs of KEEN Utility boots, 5,000 pairs of shoes, 2,500 pairs of socks and $15,000 to relief efforts in Staten Island, New York and to the American Red Cross’s efforts in New Jersey and New York.

“In the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Sandy our company’s reaction from the management team to all employees was to quickly find a way to help those who have experienced disruption to their lives,” said Chris Enlow, Hybrid.Care & CSR Manager at KEEN. “For this disaster we contacted community organizations in the affected areas and found that our footwear products with toe protection and Utility boots could be an important resource for relief and rebuilding on the ground.”

This donation came together because of your help. Our fans responded in a big way, and together, we donated more than $700,000 to help our neighbors in the Northeast during this disaster. So thank you for jumping into action – we couldn’t have done it without you.
