Over the course of the next month, KEEN ambassador Nick Greece will be hitting the road to compete in the first ever Vail Epic Race — a challenge to ski 26 different ski areas in the shortest possible amount of time. The first 10 racers to ski and document all of these areas will win a season pass for life! During Nick’s attempt to become one of these 10, he’ll be checking in with us weekly to provide updates on his trip, including stories from the road, gear reviews and general tomfoolery.
Nick has spent the last 12 years traveling the world flying paragliders. When he’s not in the air, he’s also helping the communities in the areas that he adventures. One such example was helping start the first paralyzed paragliding program for vets in the USA.
Nick edits a magazine for the national non-profit association — the United States Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association — and handles communications work for them, as well. He’s on the US National Paragliding team, was the 2011 Paragliding World Cup America’s Champion and has broken many foot launch records in the US, including a 204 mile flight last year. He also sits on the board of the Cloudbase Foundation, one of our current Hybrid.Care partners.
During ski season, you can usually find Nick off the road and enjoying Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. And while he’s certainly no stranger to travel, this will mark the first time he’s had the opportunity to go on a journey of this scale specifically to ski!
This series of blog posts will focus on Nick’s travel, the skiing and the people he meets along the way.
