The Intertwine Alliance is a coalition of private firms, public agencies and nonprofit organizations working together to tap new sources of funding, better leverage existing investments and more fully engage residents with the outdoors and nature. The Alliance was built over many years, but was formally launched as a nonprofit in July 2011 with 28 partners. Today, they have more than 100 formal partners. The Alliance exists to ensure the region’s trail network gets completed; that our natural areas get restored, and that people of all ages discover they can enjoy the outdoors near where they live. We exist to make our region more attractive to new businesses and to help our existing companies attract talent. We’re here to reduce utility and transportation costs and keep our water clean. Finally, we’re here to help our partner organizations build their capacity and become more successful.
The Intertwine Photo Contest runs July-October, each month with a different theme. The top 5 photos each month win a free pair of KEEN shoes. Submissions are limited to Intertwine locations: from Cascade Locks in the Gorge to the western edge of Tillamook State Forest, from Mount St Helens up north to south of Woodburn and Molalla. Voting for each theme closes at 5:00 PM on the final weekday of that month. Participants may enter one photo per day, and a max of five photos per month.
July’s theme was “Natural Landscapes” and we’re happy to present the winning photos below:
August’s photo contest is now underway with the theme of Urban Art Connection. Check out The Intertwine’s Facebook page for more information on how to enter.
