Portland, Oregon has been our home since 2007, and we dedicate ourselves and our resources to building a strong community and healthier planet so we can all create, play, and care.
Last week, we donated 55 desktop and laptop computers, server equipment and miscellaneous cables to Free Geek, a local non-profit organization. Free Geek offers job-training, education programs, and volunteer opportunities. Volunteers work with staff to build and refurbish computers and laptops that may make their way to non-profits and community organizations.
The computers and equipment donated by KEEN will give volunteers (including K-12 students) the opportunity to have a computer of their own in exchange for 24 community service hours. Unused donated items are recycled through Oregon E-Cycles.
