It’s always devastating to hear the effects of natural disasters. Lives and nations are changed in minutes on a scale that is hard to imagine, and no amount of support can put things back to the way they were.
While we at KEEN know we can’t fix the world when disaster strikes, we feel a responsibility to be part of the recovery efforts. It is this sense of obligation and our dedication building stronger communities around the world that led us to become inaugural members of the Mercy Corps Disaster Response Corps. Earlier this month, we delivered a check of $50,000 so Mercy Corps could activate immediate, on the ground support, when disaster strikes, and begin the process of partnering with communities for their long-term recovery. Little did we know, the need would be so great, so quickly after our check was signed.
In light of the tragedy in Nepal, we know we need to do more. The need is great, and the resources in Nepal limited. We invite you to join us in our effort to raise an additional $20,000 to provide fresh water, food, shelter and medicine to the survivors of the Nepal Earthquake. For every dollar you contribute on the KEEN Mercy Corps fundraising page, KEEN will match a dollar.
Our hearts go out to those in Nepal. We thank you for your compassion and for helping aid in their recovery effort.
