KEENterns Plan a Party

Hey y’all! We’re more than halfway through our internship experience and I thought it was time to update you on what we’ve all been working on. Over the course of our internship, on top of our respective departmental projects, the KEENterns get together once a week (or more, depending on our schedules) to plan and execute an event. Last year’s group hosted a trivia night to support Mercy Corps. This year, our super secret KEENtern project is… a bingo night benefitting the Bicycle Transportation Alliance!

The BTA states their mission as such:

“The Bicycle Transportation Alliance creates healthy, sustainable communities by making bicycling safe, convenient and accessible.”

We’re so excited to support this awesome group and have been working hard to make sure its the most fun event it can be. We’ve done everything from deciding on an activity, finding a location, getting awesome donations from great local companies for prizes and auction pieces to spreading the word to get people excited about it.

Of course, we’ve had plenty of fun with the project, but we’re not the only ones. KEEN even allow dogs in the office! A couple of us couldn’t resist bringing our furry friends to our “KEENtern Friday” meetings, and Duke and Smokey were a huge help!

While we wish that this event could include all of our KEEN friends worldwide, we just couldn’t find a location big enough. If you’re in Portland, though, we hope to see you at Bar Bar on August 12th, from 7-10pm. We’ll have a fun game and great prizes, as well as access to awesome food and drink from Bar Bar’s full menu! See you there!
